FAIRHAVENS FILIPINO SEVENTH‑DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH
A Journey of Faith
Our Beginnings
The story of Fairhavens Filipino Seventh‑day Adventist Church began with a dream—one shared by several Filipino Adventist families who longed to plant a church in the growing city of Vaughan. On the evening of November 17, 2002, families from various Filipino Adventist congregations across Toronto gathered in a Woodbridge home for prayer, fellowship, and visioning. This small group meeting marked the humble beginning of a spiritual community that would continue to grow under God’s leading.
From Fellowship to Church
The first formal worship service was held on June 28, 2003 at Maple United Church. The group adopted the name “Fairhavens Christian Fellowship”, beginning with monthly worship, then bi‑weekly, and eventually weekly services featuring both Creative and Traditional formats.
God blessed the growing fellowship, and on January 23, 2005, the Ontario Conference granted Fairhavens official Company status. Later that year, on November 26, 2005, the congregation was formally organized as a Company with 53 committed members, under the leadership of Pastor Ben‑Ezra Adap.
A major milestone came on November 4, 2006, when Fairhavens was officially organized as a Church, with 70 charter members. The congregation later worshipped at Carville United Church and Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church. In 2007, the church embraced its full identity with the name “Fairhavens Filipino Seventh‑day Adventist Church.”
Growing in Ministry
Over the years, Fairhavens expanded its ministries to serve families, youth, and the wider community:
- 2010 – Couple’s Café launched
- January 15, 2011 – First induction of the Little Jewels Adventurer Club
- 2011 – Youth Café and Valleyview Visitations established
- November 5, 2011 – 5th Anniversary Celebration
- August 25–31, 2013 – First Vacation Bible School
- December 21, 2014 – First Christmas Fair at Crawford Adventist Academy
- January 3, 2015 – Sabbath School Breakfast initiated
Pastoral leadership also strengthened the church’s growth, with Pastor Joseph Batiancila (2009) and Pastor Jess Agol (2014) guiding the congregation through key years of development.
Fellowship and Resilience
In August 2019, Fairhavens embarked on a memorable fellowship trip to Pennsylvania and the General Conference Headquarters.
The COVID‑19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges. The last in‑person service before lockdown was held on March 14, 2020, followed by the first online worship on April 25, 2020. After more than two years apart, Fairhavens joyfully resumed in‑person worship in July 2022, marking a hopeful return to community life.
New Generations, New Leadership
Fairhavens continued to invest in youth and leadership development:
- July 15, 2023 – First induction of the Horizon Pathfinder Club
- January 20, 2024 – Installation of Pastor Mon Ryan Llamado
- October 18, 2025 – Establishment of the Syntrofos Masterguide Club
These milestones reflect the church’s commitment to nurturing young leaders and strengthening Adventist Youth Ministries.
Our Mission Continues
